This folklore group was founded in 1999 within the A.A.V.V. of Sant Mateu to promote the customs and traditional roots of our children.
After starting as just another extracurricular activity, it gained significant relevance due to the number of young people who quickly learned the dances and how to play the instruments, as well as the great participation of parents, some dancing, and others making all the necessary clothing for our performances. We hold workshops every year for different clothing items.
Our priorities are to disseminate the Ibizan language, customs, and traditions throughout the Spanish Peninsula, for which we have traveled to Alicante, Teruel, Ciudad Real, Mallorca, Galicia, the Barcelona boat show, and Leganés (Madrid). We have also been invited to the XXVIII edition of the Olival International Folklore Festival, Gran Canaria, Oporto, Prague, Castellón, and Valdepeñas.
In addition to this, we perform in Sant Mateu whenever there are festivities, as well as at all ‘ballades de pou’ (well dances), weddings, and other events.
