Folkloric Group Sant Josep De Sa Talaia

Throughout the centuries, the various cultures that populated the island (Phoenicians, Carthaginians, Romans, Arabs, Catalans) have left their mark on our way of life and on a cultural expression such as Folklore.


Our dances, while geographically belonging to the Mediterranean region, have little in common with the Folklore of the other neighbouring islands, Menorca and Mallorca, or the regions of Levante or Catalonia.


Since 1980, the Group’s activity has focused on the recovery of popular festivals and on transmitting to the younger generations what we learned from our elders, thus preserving the customs that are part of our history and must not be forgotten.


The Folkloric Group Sant Josep de sa Talaia is a member of the Federation of Colles of Ibiza and Formentera.

The Folkloric Group Sant Josep de sa Talaia began its activities under its current name in 1980; however, many of its members belonged to the AIRES DE SA TALAIA Group, one of the oldest on the island, and participated under that name in:

  • XII International Mediterranean Festival (Murcia).
  • International Folklore Festival of Ronda.
