The Ibiza Island Council, through its Department of Education, Culture, and Heritage, has published the book ‘We Teach Popular Culture. Traditional Attire, Dance, Music, and Song of Ibiza’. For its preparation, it has relied on the collaboration of the Federation of Dance and Popular Culture Groups of Ibiza and Formentera and the members of the Advisory Council for Popular and Traditional Culture.

It is a resource composed of simple texts covering the four areas mentioned in the title of this volume, which are part of Ibiza’s popular culture, in addition to a wide and significant selection of images of this popular culture, all complemented by a series of activities for pre-school and primary education students in Ibiza’s schools.

The aim is for this material to be a basic pedagogical tool so that teachers in Ibiza can methodically introduce Ibiza’s popular culture into schools, accompanied by multiple activities.
